Refund & Cancellation Policy
1. Free 7-day trial
Eligible new accounts receive a free 7-day trial. You may be asked to pre-authorise a payment method to confirm your identity, but you will not be charged if you cancel before the trial ends. To cancel, go to your account dashboard → Billing → Cancel subscription, or email hello@theconsultant.chat from your registered address.
2. Cancelling a paid subscription
- You may cancel a paid subscription at any time, for any reason.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You retain full access until that date.
- We do not auto-extend cancelled subscriptions.
3. Refunds
- We do not issue refunds for the unused portion of a billing cycle once that cycle has been charged.
- This applies to monthly and annual plans.
- Where required by mandatory consumer-protection law (e.g. cooling-off periods in your jurisdiction) we will of course honour those rights — please email us with your country of residence.
4. Exceptions where we may refund
We will issue a refund (in whole or in part) in the following cases:
- Duplicate charge for the same billing cycle.
- Service unavailability attributable to us that materially exceeds the SLA in your plan and is not resolved within a reasonable time.
- Fraudulent transaction on your payment instrument.
- An error on our part (wrong plan billed, wrong currency, etc.).
5. How to request a refund or cancel
- Sign in to your dashboard and use Billing → Cancel, or
- Email hello@theconsultant.chat from the address registered on your account.
Please include your account email and the transaction ID of the charge you are referring to.
6. Refund processing time
- Once approved, refunds are issued back to the original payment method via the original payment gateway.
- Typical timelines: 5–10 business days for cards, 3–5 business days for UPI / net-banking, longer for international wallets.
- We will email a confirmation when a refund is initiated.
7. Chargebacks
Please contact us first — we can almost always resolve a billing question more quickly than a chargeback. Filing a chargeback for a legitimate charge may result in suspension of your account pending review.
